Stefanie Schneider
Stefanie Schneider is a German artist with an MFA in photography from the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany known for shooting the American West on expired Polaroid instant film, creating an iconic effect of washed out colors and random artifacts. She also shoots on super 8 and 16mm film stock.Udo Kier, Marc Forster, Radha Mitchell and Daisy McCrackin are participating in her current project, “29 Palms, CA”, which combines still images, video, voice-over and music.
Her photographs have notably been used for Cyndi Lauper’s “Bring Ya to the Brink” album and for the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Desecration Smile” single.
Her artwork was featured in Marc Forster’s film Stay, starring Ewan McGregor, Ryan Gosling, Naomi Watts, Bob Hoskins and Janeane Garofalo.
